On Tuesday, November 8, in conjunction with National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week (Nov. 6-12, 2011), the People Saving Pets™ social movement is launching Volunteer Action Day! Our goal for Volunteer Action Day is simple: We want you to take the first step toward helping your local animal welfare organization by learning about available opportunities in your area and signing up for a volunteer opportunity.
Did you know that 97% of animal welfare organizations utilize volunteers? These volunteers help keep administrative costs down, allowing the organizations to use funds toward the care of the adoptable pets — to include providing spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, food and so much more.
Whiskers Project is always in need of local volunteers to help us in our mission. Whether its fostering an adoptable cat until a good home can be found, or just a few hours of assistance on one of our adoption days, volunteer support is invaluable to us.
To find out more about ways you can volunteer with the Whiskers Project, you can view our Volunteer Opportunities page, or check out our postings on the People Saving Pets™ site.
Thank you so much to all of our current and past volunteers! Because of you, we are able to save the lives of more animals, we are able to more effectively reach out into the community and make a bigger impact in the lives of cats in need.
